I awake this morning to see that the sky is blue and clear and I am hoping that it stays this way until we hop on board our helicopter this afternoon with my cute couple and their best friends and fly off to a secluded location. Once we arrive at this beautiful spot off the coast of Cairns, this couple will exchange their vows to each other in a private and heartfelt ceremony. Then back onto the helicopter for our trip back to the Cairns Airport. I love that even though there are just the two of them and their two witnesses, that they have still put great thought and effort into their private wedding ceremony. Whilst their public ceremony will take place in September, with all their family and friends, this will truly be a special day for each of them and a special bond in their friendship of their witnesses. Have I mentioned how much I love my job! Hopefully I will have a photo to upload for this gorgeous couple soon.

Well, this weekend was a weekend of life celebrations and it still amazes me after 12 years that no two lives are ever the same. The lives that were celebrated this weekend were of very different people. From an elderly man who lived his life for his family to a magnificent spiritual lady who lived life wonderfully well and who had beauty and love all around her. The services went from Traditional in the Burkin Svendsens Funeral Chapel in Cairns to the beautiful serene location of the Paradise Palms Country Club at Kewarra Beach, just near Palm Cove, with a beautiful spritual service, that made me really want to contemplate my own life. The backdrop of the room was idealic and you could see the ocean and the hills all around, which is exactly why I suggested this venue to the family. I have to admit that it is an absolute pleasure to be able to officiate at these life celebrations. I finished off today with a beautiful service for a lady who has had a tremendous battle during her life and knowing that she is now at peace must be a blessing to her family. I would like to finish off with these words in honour of this lady’s trials and tribulations..Living our life, one day at a time. Whilst it is a bit quiet on the wedding front at the moment, I am looking forward to being a part of the NQ Wedding Expo at the Pier Cairns thanks to NQ Events and Shangri-la Resorts next weekend, I look forward to seeing all you future brides there…and I am looking forward to the wedding season kicking off in March.
